The macro lovers would love diving in Indonesia and especially in Lembeh strait, in North of Sulawesi, which is the best location to take some incredible pictures.

You can also find some other places in the North of Bali at dives sites like Seraya Secret or Secret Bay. The upcoming popular diving spot is Raja Ampat, with its high biodiversity, considered as the biggest one in the world! The photographers are coming from all around the world to take some photos of this place and these rare species.

Wreck Diving

If you dive in Indonesia, you will be able to find some shipwrecked in the deepest level of the Indonesian submarine levels.

The most famous shipwrecked is the world class dive site locatedin Tulamben on the North East coast of Bali. Called “US Liberty Ship”, it is considered among the best wreck diving site in the world. You will also be able to see other shipwrecked from the Second Word War in Papua too.

How to dive in Indonesia?

It is easy to find a place to dive in Indonesia. Most of the diving centers are located in the touristic areas. There are some diving places where it is better to explore like Komodo, the Celebes and Raja Ampat for instance.

You should also pay attention to the diving center you choose. Some have very low stafety standards, so you better check twice for your own safety!

Best time to dive in Indonesia?

You will be able to dive in Indonesia the whole year. But it is important to remember that Indonesia is a very large country and the weather conditions can vary from place to place, so you should check in advance the weather conditions before you plan to go diving in Indonesia. Even if basically, we have the rainy season from November to March, and the dry season from April to October. The best season is the dry one, with a clear visibility for diving.

Snorkeling in Indonesia

Divers can also snorkeling in Indonesia and actually, there are some interesting spots for it. It is possible to rent a cheap snorkel gear for the day and explore the marine landscape by yourself or you can also arrange a day trip with local people or friends. You can snorkeling around numerous islands like Amed, Bunaken, Tulamben or even Padang.
